I still remember one morning way back seeing that yellow chevy in Hot Rod. I was eating wheat chex. Sorry for the off topic, but does anyone have pics of that car? That is the one that turned me to the low side....

This was featured in Classic And Custom magazine as were many of the cars at this show. Gary Minor bought this car after Jack passed away. It was painted in a two toned color scheme before Gary bought it. Gary was originally from the east coast and knew Jack before moving to California. Gary and his wife drove from California to this event and every one of the KKOA Leadsled Spectaculars.

We'd just got my car on the road a couple weeks before making the trip out there from Indiana!

The yellow Cameo is still around. I saw it several times this past summer.
So many of those cars pictured were featured in Classic & Custom magazine in the next few months after that event!

  8. Wow! Two of my favorite Buicks! Lee Pratt's and Sam Barris'. Sam's must have been recently restored at this point?

  10. Wow, I remember seeing this Chevy all over back in the 80s. If I recall, the last time I saw it was at a huge supercruise that was in Lafayette back in about 1987 or '88. Been a long time. Wonder where it is today? E

The 50 Merc did win the first King Of Mercs in Kansas City but was owned and built by Scan0091.jpg Bob Johnson of Council Bluffs Iowa.

Dad said pack your bags. Going to a car show. All I knew is that I wanted to see Bob Johnson`s So Fine 50 Merc and his 40 Merc Sweater than Wine. Both were there. One of my all time favorite shows. I was 12. Scan0104.jpg Scan0103.jpg Scan0158.jpg

Fun Photos, thanks for sharing. That took a group digging in the archives for the photos posted recently.

?------------ Here is one from South Dakota. Parked on the far north end. A section for cars not meeting the year span or Custom criteria. The second pic was taken at a later date. Some of these pictures I have posted on the other 82 show thread. I have lots more. IMG_20200323_0001.jpg

Lil Miss Vicky was there. Owned By Jim Wilkins. Met him years later at Indy`s CCR. He now owns The Oriental Buick. 55-57 ? I bought about 900 Little Pages Magazines from a guy who winters in the same neighbor hood as Jim does in Florida. Jim is from Ohio. The Vicky survives in unchanged condition in Minnesota. Love this car. Scan0522.jpg Scan0523.jpg
