What do you mean? Isn't that paint? It's good enough for me. Or will you paint it satin black because you live in a rust belt? Or go white fire wall and red wheels with chrome rings and baby moons. But that is an awesome engine!!! Is it three pedals?

Well now that is a question. I like shiny cars. I also like old weathered paint but even then I like them waxed to the max. Satin and flat covers a multitude of sins. So to go gloss on that car may mean a lot of work. What would be slick as a tick would be to wet sand it and blow about 3 coats (or 7) of clear with enough pearl to make it look frosty. I also like shiny cars that are wet with morning dew and that would give you that allusion.

Actually you should post it on the PHOTOSHOP thread and ask those wizards to try a few of these ideas, they are great at what they do and maybe get your ideas done visually so you can choose better

The car looks fine like it is if thats the look you want. Personally, I couldn't live with a car that wasn't painted.
This reminds me of a time back in the 70's when a elderly lady said the Model A pickup I was driving was a "cute dune buggy"..I just smiled and said thank you. HRP
Sneak up on it. Give the wheels some attention and maybe stripe it here n there. Enjoy it again with a fresh look that way. If you didn't have a shy "I want it painted" thing going on you wouldn't ask us hooligans, right? So fuck it, don't be shy, spill it ya fellow hoodlum! You want paint? Speak up!! Ok, back to normal (yeah right...), I'd still sneak up on it just for a change. It's possible that wheel and stripe colors can open up a whole book of different possibilities. The single most important decision in ANY build or restoration, WHAT COLOR? It's the 1st impression, a lasting impression. I'm not fond of quality cars left in primer for too long, but you're not doing this for me so I can take a sincere "fuck off..."
Your car looks good as is. Since you asked though, if it were mine, I would go with a solid color in lacquer, or acrylic enamel with the gloss turned down a bit, add pinstripes (tastefully) call it done. Color choice has to be yours, same with tires/wheels (you will be the one who opens the garage door and sees it everyday).
Looks badass the way it is to me! if anything center caps and trim rings would dress it up just enough.
Shiny would look great. How straight is the car, how are the door / trunk gaps, are you able to do the prep / paint yourself? I'm pretty close to you, Oswego.
Paint? Looks painted to me. I've had more fun with my last 4 suede cars than with any of my shiny ones.
Best thing about paint, is you could change it up every 12 months or so, to whatever takes your fancy. Personally, id go gloss black, white firewall, and chrome steelies with black walls. But that's what I like, I'm also into flames on gloss black.
55 Olds discs, Moon valve covers, some tastefully done pinstriping. Yeh, the average joe who tries to come on as cool with car jargon can come up with some weird ones like: heap, jalopy, coupe, dune buggy, stock car. I experienced all of these descriptors referring to my first 1918 T roadster pickup.
Car is already nailed id leave it as is. Black on black wheels is tough as nails and accent colors look so lame. No hubcaps either. Your first instinct when you built it was 100 percent. Also stop asking for opinions on the internet as they are almost always awful and you obviously dont need them. Great car!
