Hi all of you,,i'm just in the way to ship from New York a 1957 Cadillac engine and transmission...some of you can tell me how much weight all?thanks....
the '57 had what caddy called a 315 HydraMatic, it was called a jetaway by Olds and you should probably figure 200 lbs minimum maybe as much as 250.
That hydromatic should weigh about 25-30 pounds less then the slant pan. One of the reasons they went with that new and improved transmission is weight. But is still going to be a heavy pig. For comparison the Buick Dynaflo of the era tipped the scales @ 180. Funny I had no problem finding dynoaflo weight when I was going to ship to Sweden but I for some reason can't find a real weight on the 315. Always better to think heavier then lighter when shipping. LOL Have you got shipping covered? Is someone making sure it gets on the boat?
