At an auction this summer I saw one with lower miles. They bought it with 400 miles, it was nearing 1000 miles at the time of the auction. It was a lemon that someone drove for 2 months of nothing but problems then parked it and bought a Cadillac.
eh....it's a late model.... Practically a new car...no wonder it's got such low miles. throw it back. the paint is f-ed anyways.
My favorite year Galaxie! You can't just show us pics and not give us the run down on it! Which engine, trans, seats? Why only 7,000 miles? Why stored so long? Plans? Inquiring HAMB'ers want to know!!!
Killer find, that's my favorite year. I always did like the rocket exhaust taillights, since Mom had that Galaxie ragtop many years ago. I've wondered what would have happened if the Starliner roof had carried over to '63 and '64. And the perfect color.
My 64 Biscayne, 283 with PG was bought in November 1963 by a farmer in northern Indiana for his wife. She drove it for two years and decided she didn't like it. It was stored in their barn for over 46 years. After they passed away the car was sold in an estate auction. The interior is like new. I can't believe the mice and rats didn't destroy it. The paint is original. The chrome and stainless is impeccable. It has since been lowered and all four wheels have disc brakes. Barn finds are still out there. Gary
63 1/2 Arguably the very first American fastback. Beat out the mustang and an AMC car by 1/2 year. Great car.
Gary, the pic of your Chev looked like it had a Red roof light...of olde! (positioned just like I remember them!) Clean looking car.
Good score! The best looking Galaxie, IMO. Check out the Galaxie Owners club out of Atlanta; lots of nice cars, many with big blocks, a couple with SOHC's.
C'mon man, elaborate on the 'big plans' part... When I was a youngin', the neighbor lady had a 63 1/2 fastback. Dark blue, 289 auto, black bucket console interior. Real lookers those 63's.
I found a barn once too, but I couldn't drive it away Sweet find!! I see a full-house FE in your future!
One of my favorite fords and original black to boot. Heres a few good lookin options with steelies or a good lookin five spoke always looks good too.
