History Help me find some old photos of this Cedar Rapids Iowa 1940 Ford Coupe

I have a new Vertex, but I'm thinking this Cragar distributor would be a nice pairing.

I need to see the Minneapolis swap next year. From the pics I've seen posted, some good hot rod parts available. I went to the Cedar Rapids swap over the weekend. Picked up a couple goodies but slim pickings for old school stuff.

 

I had a Horne on my 354" Hemi, same one that was on Hank Silva's FED in Santa Clara, 1953.
Hank later transplanted the Chrysler with Horne intake into his candy blue '40 Coupe...
Coupe was sold to a Santa Clara policeman, John Millar; engine went into a '32 drag coupe, and a bud of mine bought Hank's old '40. I installed a 324 Olds in the '40, and my friend traded it in on a '57 Chevy!
That was in 1961...Fast forward to 1979, I was upstairs at Brian Burnett's Street Rods West...and came across the Horne 4 jugger intake off the Hank Silva Hemi!

Funny how this stuff gets around...

 

1961? Mike was this the one you did the'41/'48 fuel door on?

 

Not much to report on the car this week, so I thought I would post up some pictures of trophies that Jack S. Brazier gathered in the late 50's.

These are all pretty cool!

Not much new to report. I did throw some stabil in the tank last Sunday and took the car out for a little longer drive. The new wheel tire combo took out a shimmy at 55-60. The new tires are really gummy, but skinny, and this motor will still break the tires loose at will. I think I will leave this car running for the fun factor until the hemi is absolutely ready to go in the car. I'll try to get a video posted up.

Now I need to search out Mr Weyerhauser a little more....

I got my wieand intake here so i figured id snap a pic of the bump in it for pic comparison

 

I see what you're seeing. So is the Weiand an open chamber for all four carbs and can you run them progressive or are they separated?

Stories like this is why I lurk around the HAMB. Well done on the 40. I love the Chrome Reverse wheels, but the story of the car and your sharing it with us is the best. Carry on and thanks.

 

Girard (the owner before Jack) called last night. He's been following the thread. He's going to run down Saturday am to check out a car he hasn't seen in person since 1956. I'll be sure to post up some pics!

I liked it with the painted steelies and black walls better but with the much motor I'm sure you'll go threw those white walls soon enough

I bet the '40 is glad to be with you for a while. What a great story. It is really something that the history just keeps coming. I wish I knew where my '38 is and my brothers '39.

 

Well Girard and his son Dean made a trip down to see the 40. He was excited to check it out.

I think Girard was surprised to see how much was unchanged, including the interior.

He thought he paid $550 for the car, sold it for $850. He recalled the gas filler after seeing the hole in the trunk.
