Looks even better when shiny color is added.

I have a very rough looking truck similar to this image. Could I see one with an extended cab or a mordor version?[IMG]

Another thought that I wondered what it would look like. If you did extend the cab size in this design, how would you go about making the roof flatter, with either/and a chop and rake of the 30's style sedan roof? I've seen some pictures of how people have pieced together all sorts of roof chops and piecing, but I'm having a tough time trying to imagine how you would make the roofline change in this truck from dome shaped to a more flatter profile. It might not even look better, I'm just interested to see what it might look like.[IMG]

  7. LEOH...The pictures that you posted are too small to show any kind of detail..Do you have something bigger?

No Photoshop necessary. This is a later model Stude, but it uses the same cab.

Those aftermarket frenched headlights always make me think of 1970s Chrysler Cordoba units. Just doesn't look right on a traditional custom, imho.

I thought so, sorry. I'll try to find something larger.

Thanks Peanut. I don't recall seeing that model, but I was interested in versions that didn't have that front slant to the rear door window. I know about the goofy white multi-door version someone built. Ick.

I'll keep looking for a larger image to post Moose.

  13. OK Peanut...I hope ratty_aussie doesn't mind me playing around with his car but here's on with a more traditional frenched look....Either way looks pretty good.

O gosh, I think that makes it all happen...

I think "very pleasing to the eyes," Very custom, I like all the horizontal lines..

Hey Rattie...I think you are honing in on a plan (I told ya so! LOL)!! I like all three colors that Moose did.

  18. I added a hood (Might not be totally accurate) and cleaned things up a bit...

IMHO, the fade-aways would really accentuate the lines in that version ^

  20. Leo..As I said not much to work with but I gave it a try...The roof line hasn't been altered until its highest point in the radius and then just extends rearward from that point.

Time to start planning on collecting old cabs in order to build this. It's the nicest looking version of this phantom I've yet to see.

Here's another way of doing it. I think I like this solution to the front of the rear doors better.
