That is cool! And has got to be one of the first pics I've seen on this thread of a drag Comet with velocity stacks coming out of the teardrop.

Thanks Gentlemen, had some linkage and intake issues that didn't allow dyno pull or I would have a video. I sure hope to have things shook down and the new intake Hogan sent proven before Beaver Springs so I can make the trip, had a Great time there in 2013/14 and would love to be there in 16' and actually participate rather than just watch. It has Jeff Colvert Pro Ports also.........Al

  20. Wow Al your comet is looking awesome.
Last race of the season was ok, ran a new best 1/8 ET 8.05 @ 86.8mph went to the final but I dialed a 8.07 and broke out with a 8.067 on the brakes. The comet kept getting faster all day. I was dialing 8.15 untill I got the bye and ran it out to the 8.05 pass and was my best 60ft also 1.84.

I'd like to add a bit about the Hairy Canary Comet. I saw it run quite a lot in the years 1965-1966. This was mostly at Englishtown Raceway Park but the Canary also ran at Old Bridge NJ as well. It was always a formidable car. I first saw it at Old Bridge and at that time it was sitting up fairly high and had the stacks going through the hood scoop. As I recall I never saw it lose at either track.. I have a somewhat hazy memory of the Canary later appearing as a 1965 version with either a flip front or full flip body and altered wheelbase. It was one of our favorite racers of the day.

The Hairy Canary Comet at Atco NJ These are frames from a drag racing move documentary made at the time. Apparently the Canary and crew were favorites of the film maker since they also made a shot of the driver inside the car. This is evident in the 555 shown in both stills. The entire film can be seen here . I've tweeked the color still of the car a bit to bring it more closely into how it appeared in person.
