She arrived today and is nestled into the shop for winter. With plenty of plans for it, the first thing to do is study.
I plan on building it old school with nothing newer than 1963. A hopped up 235 Maybe, a 265, who knows. Full fendered for sure. Right now its a blank canvas while I start setting a plan. Man, that is a great start. I have dug those hood sides since I was a teenager.

Nice looking 32 Chev coupe, Fred. Coincidentally there is a good one for sale here locally now.
Look forward to seeing the project come together.

  9. Just like with its Ford counterpart. the 32 Chevy is the high point of good styling in the 20s-30s.
Beautiful car, even as it sits. Good luck, it looks solid and I hope the wood is good.

I looked t a few around bc, found this one in Alberta.
I missed out on a 33 3 window coupe and a 33 sedan delivery. The guy who bought them scooped them , actually stole them. What he didn't know is the woman selling them is raising money for the legal fees of a double murder suspect with anger issues... his case has been apealed.
Sometimes karma come looking you you with a double barrel shotgun as in this case..

The wood is intact less the floors. I see a combination of replacement wood and tubing coming.
Come spring, the first thing will be dismantling the body from the frame, soda blasting the frame and reconstructing it. Learning to mate the right backing plates, spindles etc. allowing me to keep the stock axle, researching if i can keep stock steering when converting to a 265 powerglide or updating to a 235.... so many things to put together before pulling apart. It's not like there's a Tardel how to book on this build.

I love the side vents as well. First I thought of running without sides but opening them up and getting the peek a boo affect is as hot as a pair of great legs in fishnets. The sides stay.

  13. Looks pretty complete. I haven't seen a '32 Chevy for a while, they are nice old cars and should make a slick hot rod.

I'm thinking a pinto motor yeah.

  17. the steering box should work, the tranny will be behind it. if you check my thread you can see how tight the engine will be. i have some extra 32 steering box parts, i was collecting pieces before i took mine apart.
i restored all the wood, except the piece under the deck lid and i added steel to the back side of most of the wood supports.
a prebuild is a good thing, then take it apart to paint.

I used an aftermarket dropped axel for a 50 chevy pickup, stock shocks, and stock steering box. Worked out great. image.jpg

Looks like you have a solid starting point!

  21. That is a great start. I'm not a big fan of gas tanks in the trunk ... but with the rear fenders bucked up ... I wonder how badass a tucked rear and bobbed fenders would look? Either way, I like fenders on a Chevy too. Good luck, and get going.

Here you go Joker. This is what a 78 year old Ford guy does when he buys his very first Chevy.
