uploadfromtaptalk1442418330841.jpg here is a good look at polished for you. I almost left my cast but was worried about keeping it clean.

R35J1S that looks great, what make are the valve covers?

  4. Polish the ribs and the end covers leave the rest rough.

I like either a total polish, or a combo of polish on some parts and cast on others. It adds "visual interest".

A while back I saw a show car where they had polished the blower case ribs , then painted the rest in a real light tan pearl color and did it ever look clean as the engine was the same color too

Neat looking 5 window, what color will it be ?

show rod or hot rod? for a true hot rod would go with cast finish. for bare metal there are sealers, like Shark Hide, that can be used to preserve whatever finish you decide on

I prefer cast every time. Just has the all business look in my eyes.

I don't know what brand of covers they are. I bought them on ebay a year or so back. They make them and they sold for $285 I think. Probably still sell them on ebay.

What Tony said, it also looks bigger and more menacing.

The fit and finish seems to be pretty good. I have no complaints

  15. Show car = Polished.
    Race car = As cast.
Hot rod: Polished raised edges & everything as cast. (FWIW, that's what I'm doing on my Hemi).

  16. I like the idea of rough cast and polishing the rims. HRP

  17. I have a polished one and a cast one.
The cast one is more fun to look at, but the polished one is prettier. Does pretty belong on a hotrod? Does "pretty" seem like a fitting term for a 671 blower?

I'd have to say that a dressed and cleaned housing with polished ribs would be the best of both worlds.

I've seen enough polished aluminum to develop an allergy.....the pic is before installing belt guard, vent tubes and bigger zoomies.

  19. Can't go wrong with polished ribs and red or black for the rest.
