Maybe this is cheating, but this is my favourite, owned and built by myself. Extended quarters, 5 on the bottom, 2 and a half on too, bumper guard tail lights, front bumper is flipped over, has a 235 with an Edmunds 2 carb intake and Fenton split exhaust. Thanks to Mike Siewert for the photos.

  3. It wasn't anything too flash, but it was mine and I loved it. It had 350, powerglide and 8 inch. Sold it in 1992.

I'm gonna hafta throw my hat in the ring with the folks who list the vehicle(s) they have personally owned and list my own '51 Bel-Air. She may be in rough shape at the moment, but she's mine and I have a vision! Now if I could just get a picture of my "Hel-Air" that wasn't too large to upload!!!

Let's keep this one going. There are some super nice ones in here but of course I'm saying mine. It's 100% original (motor, paint, even exhaust). The custom touches to date are a mild drop, dealer installed rear deck speaker and moon tach. Soon to come...t5, lower static drop, dual exhaust/intake and a ciadella interior. 20150724_093305.jpg

It's the name of the company that makes the interior kit. The factory '51 hardtops only came with a black/grey interior. Ciadella can make an interior in the factory pattern but in any color you want. All the black will be done in yellow and all the Grey will be done in ivory.

That would be my under construction '51 Chevy pictured at Albion last night. Hoping to be ready for a permanent paint job after a couple more winters worth of body mods. Thanks for posting your pics.

Edit: I can be a real dumbass sometimes. I made this same mistake within the last week on a different thread, commenting on the lack of hotrod responses vs. custom responses, and then realizing that the thread was posted to "Traditional Customs". Duh. Hard for me to get it in my head that the board has been split, because I still just surf "General Discussion." Anyway, I leave my comment, for what it is worth:

OK, here you go . . . I find this interesting:
This is a hotrod-heavy site. Been plenty of bellyaching over the years about customs being treated like a stepchild.
Boss starts a thread about favorite 49-52 Chevies and what happens? 95% customs are thrown up as answers to his question.
Now, is it that almost everybody's (hotrod & custom crowd) favorite for this car is a custom?
Or does the hotrod crowd see a thread title like this and think "Nothing for me here"?
I admit to being baffled by the fact that answers to the question like these cars below account for a miniscule number of the cars in this thread. Where are all the other hotrod guys?

I said mine before because I had just gotten it and had been wanting a '51 Bel Air for at least 15 years but, Chris Broders' '49 is fu@#ing perfect. It makes me want to paint mine blue. Screenshot_2016-03-23-08-54-32.png

I think I did some work on this car a few years ago. If not this one, there is one a lot like it somewhere. Very nice car, I like the look.

Seen this a couple years in a row at the piston powered show in Cleveland. Not sure who owns it, but one of my favorites for sure. [IMG]
