I rolled my bucket out today in order to clean up the garage. I only get about a half hour a day to work on it, so picking up after myself ends up low on the list.

I've got the rear brakes plumbed, but I have to refigure the front rubber hose mounts. They hit the wishbones when the suspension moves.

  2. I tipped the frame mount at an angle so the hoses aim uphill made a big difference.

Nice front end.,clean n neat! Check your shackle angle though,in photo looks a little too low,if you have 45* or real close its good,if not use a panhard bar or make outside shackle mount a little wider=remove washers an or remove some metal from"T"so they bolt up closer to wing making them wider. Low shackles are something that adds to getting deathwabble so just ideas if your low on angle.

Thanks for the pictures, Rich! I'll try bending the brackets.

Where did you find the spring - behind bat wings on your front end?

  5. This was at a show I was at on Sunday, new take on the Fad T theme. The injector stacks are fake items over a Holley 4 bbl. JW

  6. Used a pair of '37 up wishbone yokes and some 3/8" plate, set up an axle on a plate so it was level and at the right caster, set the yokes to angle in accordance to frame width and hairpin length, the put the wings on so they were vertical and the clevis holes were straight up and down. Then made the spring eyes (bolt and bushed DOM tube) angled to be parallel with the axle. Made an extra set (other than final welding, shaping, & clean-up) as long as I had it set-up.

  7. Big Daddy Don Garlits used to sell those fake injector stacks. Worked on my T till 3 am Monday morning trying to thrash it back together for the NTBA Western nationals here in town this week, but it wasn't to be.....no Babbit, NO Bucket! (Sorry about the fuzzy pics....there "might" have been 50w on the camera lens! It's hard to do all that solo at 2am!) Bearing clearance was .004"-.005", and OH so close to spinning! Got lucky I decided to check them ALL before I buttoned it up! Bad news is the Cranks turned .030 on the rods.....no one close by can get those bearings in anytime soon, Good news is the Bearings are virtually identical to 440 / 426 bearings except for the little notch pictured, which I believe oils the cylinder wall below the piston (it's only on the outside rod bolt). I also believe a couple of min. with a triangle file will fix that little discrepancy! Have a bearing on the way from Summit, hopefully it will be here tomorrow or early Friday. Let the trash begin! Say it isn't so. Surely we deserve to see any such pictures here first.

Unless Chip has abandoned us. :)

It's been a while since we updated the thread. I don't have a whole lot to add, but I will post what I've been up to, with the expectation of you guys doing the same!

Paul (Kiwi Tinbender) is fixing my attempt to fit my radiator shell to the radiator by taking the best pieces from two shells and piecing them together. It fits SO much better than what I had going on!!!

He also had a '34 Ford hood he just louvered to show off. It looks awesome!!!

I have also been tinkering with my new found obsession of Twin Blue Stewart Warners. I'm almost 100% positive I'll be unable to afford a tach or speedometer, so I am improvising. I found a decent deal on a used reproduction Wings speedometer, which was damaged in shipping, which I ended up getting refunded for, so it was a good opportunity to experiment. Here's what I'm trying to mimic:

    Here's what I got:

    1443466311690.jpg

Here's where I'm at after cutting down the needle, stripping the finish, and turning the center. Now after a few decades of Photoshop work and some screen printing of sorts, I think I'll have a convincing copy. Kinda fun to play with.

  27. Have just chucked a set of halogen lights in the T so I can see where I'm going at night and I have been playing with a new toy I picked up recently, its outside the scope of this forum, suffice to say its a early seventies muscle car. I'll see if it makes an appearance next time I post a pic of the T.:D

My latest project was to clean and organize my tiny garage. Now that it's clean, I can destroy it again.

    1443466717145.jpg

I started drilling my axle, and although it is taking forever, it's turning out great. I got halfway yesterday.

Not sure if you caught my thread "Banjo leaking" but it is out rebuilt and ready to go back in when my back stops hurting. Yes I pulled something loading it to take down to Mike who rebuilt it.
