Hot Rods Traditional style 32-34 ford fiberglass cars - Any pic's?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Fordor Ron, Aug 20, 2015.

  1. C'mon guys, please don't turn this into another glass vs. steel shitfight.

  2. Glass or steel? Who cares is my opinion if it means more hot rods - customs on the road then that's a great thing, especially considering how scarce steel bodies are to find these days, not everyone has the money to afford steel as well, even when you can find a steel body. So buy or build what suits you is the best option I believe and that's why everyone's hotrods are unique to them. For the record I have two all steel and one with a fibreglass rear with a steel cowl.

  3. Less words. More pic's!

Details on each car are good too.

I like this one from above and I wonder if someone just changed the top and painted the top half. Looks great with minor changes. Thanks for giving me some inspiration this morning. I am headed back out to the shop.

Yep, that is exactly what he did. I'll try to find the before pics of the green 32 roadster and the white 34 coupe. The transformation is shocking.

    Wow....
I would'nt care if it was made out of paper mache, if it was as cool as this car.
No disrespect towards the traditionalists; but this car is every bit of a hotrod as any flattie powered Henry.

Yeah, The White Coupe is in the Portland/Vancouver area. I`ve seen it at a few events this summer. It`s also the only Hot Rod lately that my wife likes......Maybe Doug has a real sideline going with these `Rehab Rods`......:):)

  21. by the way, some great looking glass cars on here.... keep the pics coming

Here's my Wescott body #4. Built in 1986, didn't see the road till 92 under its own power while I had it on my old 34 Coupes chassis, C2FE23EB-9A8C-480C-A4DC-579123156FAC.jpeg 17B12FC9-A3BC-47FC-A0EA-B5C59430056E.jpeg It was a helluva lot of fun on that chassis, was my 1st gennie and ran semi-eliptics on a 9" that you really couldn't see from the side view. IMG_0479.PNG

Put it back on the P-Wood built chassis the next year with all of the Pete & Jakes Temple City parts. still driving it after 22yrs 1st with American 5 spokes, IMG_0475.PNG Then in 97/98 on all ribbed Denmans and now Lesters on the rear as I can't find 7.50-8.20-16 Ribbed Denmans any more as in the pic at the top.
It's now come full circle and back on the American 5 spokes. It's always good to be able to swap the wheels as they can change the looks of a car like shoes on a gal.

This car has been many places and had been a dream fulfilled as I used to stare at it when I used to work at the shop in 86/87 where I worked dreaming of one day owning it,That day came in late 91. Here we are in 2017 439D5107-F433-49F7-A690-EC03ADB4F549.jpeg 181D5890-A264-4FC9-B07B-CA1073D6EE11.jpeg and 20/20 470AC42A-E3F0-4D5C-8EC2-01F7E8FD65B6.jpeg 414A5E88-215D-4EE1-9CB3-B5F1668B247F.jpeg F9B7C12C-856C-4AFD-8A8F-E7E634CDA51B.jpeg & she's still seeing the pavement in 20/21 presently.

One that I didn't notice posted is the original "Full House" built by Jim Inglese. That car changed my life around when I first saw it at the Wildwood run years ago. Simply groundbreaking. I have a load of pictures Jim sent me years ago with the intent of cloning the car. I can't get them to post. Maybe someone else has some pics of it. It was in every magazine back in the early eighties.

My neighbor and high school buddy owns the Inglese roadster. He drives it all over the place.

I had no idea that car was in Simi? I liked it most in primer and with Fiestas, another Timeless Icon.
