Good work, well done. Just a short question for all those on this thread. Why are the thread on the fittings on the ready made tubes about double the size of the originals?

Do you mean length of thread, or diameter?

one side had short ones and the other side long. I have no clue as to why. I used the short on the wheel cylinders. I figured they went into a tighter area around the backing plate.

Some wheel cylinders have deeper threads than others.

  8. Yeah, one short and one long fitting. I try to put the longer one where it won't be as visible or connect it to a union. Those have slightly deeper threads.

Just a theory but could the long fitting be for going into brass or aluminum the short one for steel or iron?

    Nice recovery.

Sorry to see you had so much trouble after paying professionals some damn good money who should know what they're doing.

The shop should refund every single dime they charged you for this shoddy brake line work, both time and materials.

Ultimately , the aformentioned shop owner has to live w/the fact that he took money for sub-standard work & has to live w/the outcome....I always take solace in knowing what goes around, comes around....

He's big on karma. He told me he had good karma because he was just a good guy haha true story!

  18. You just confirmed my theory that people with good karma don't know it nor feel the need to ever say it.

I am a shop owner (daily drivers ) and would certainly refunded your money.

But more importantly you fixed your brakes and have no indication of any bitterness. Enjoy and congrats.

I won't be asking this man for anything. I rather be able to tell people about my experience, rather than feel hushed by the refund.

It's funny you say that. The starter has been making a binding sound on the flex plate since it was done. I mentioned it to him and he didn't seem concerned. I might call Flat O and see if it should be shimmed. Like the starter can't get out of the way quick enough. The shifter had been getting bound up and it was hard to start the car. He fixed it and it seems to be better. He said his neutral safety switch that goes on the steering column was placed in the wrong spot. But he's the one that went over it with me when I picked it up and showed me the placement of the part. It was even hard for him to start it at that time. He told me and I quote "it's anti theft" and told me just to push on the shifter until it engages. He did fix that on 7/22/15 almost two years later haha damn!

    You won't have to ask.

If he has any conscience at all he'll mail you a full refund for the shoddy work and incorrect parts that his shop provided for you.

We all know that through word of mouth he's definitely going to be fully aware of this issue.
