I've always liked the fastback lines of GM cars of the era. Its cool . Way cool!

The car is truly a very special "find". You know the history, since it was born, now YOU are the caretaker of this GEM.
Never feel "out of place" with this Poncho, others only wish their fortune could be as good as yours.
Best of luck and enjoy it to the fullest.
Once running, get it back to the sellers, to show them the progress you have made with the car.

I noticed this picture posted in the Vintage Shots From Days Gone By thread, and thought it should be included here as well.

 

I guess you're ok to put it up for the winter now. There is no rule that says you can't work on it and have it ready to go by spring, however.

 

It's coming together! I would like to think I could be turning the key this weekend, but we'll see how that goes.

Stuart, just as before, the car has a stumbling idle and it hesitates off-idle... But is otherwise fine.

 

That is probably a problem with your idle circuit, Chris. Make sure you check every orifice. I assume the throttle shaft is not worn.

 

Sure looks as though you found a good one, looking forward to seeing it in person, maybe at Hastings or Henderson roll ins.

 

Hell, they did that new, hahaha!

 

Hey, I saw another fastback Pontiac today, same color as yours. It was parked at Joe's Brake Shop, on the corner of 50th St. and Bryant Avenue S. in Minneapolis (just west of Lyndale Ave.) I thought it was yours at first, but it had a set of mag wheels on it.

 

Stuart, I wonder if that is the '50 that I see at Back to the Fifties every year. It's a slightly different color, but looks real nice.

 

Good looking car. Pontiacs will always be #1 in my opinion.

 

Finally added a set of Firestone bias ply WWWs. So happy with this purchase!

 

That is one fine lookin poncho!! Definitely a good purchase,wheels and tires can change the attitude of a car.

 

I do love these white walls!
