Planning on it, have not been there for a several years, maybe, I'll be lucky and it won't be 100 deg every day, Thank God for the trams and the A/C buildings, us up north guys are not used to that heat.

Planning on driving up from Florida, any recommendations on which hotels to stay in if they still have rooms? I have never been before so it will be a new experience for me.
    Thanks for the help,
    Dave

I'm registered and plan to drive down on Friday if the planets align for me. If not, I'll eat the $30.00 bucks. My entry number was 6400 something. I don't do the 3-4 day thing much any more-not because of politics, just because it takes me too long to recover. I'll be in my truck in my avatar. I'll try to park along the road near the junction to the swapmeet. I was pretty close to B.A. King my last visit in 2013. Please stop by to visit. Sam

How does someone get to park under the white tents spread intermittently throughout the paved parking areas?

  7. I went last year...which was the first. I am from down under. I really enjoyed it.. It was totally different to what we get here down under. I will not be going this year but will be around the LA area instead. Will check out American Hot Rod Shop and also hoping to catch up with Jo Coddington.

  8. All American: Those tents are rented by groups of guys who hang together. We all chip in to share the cost. They aren't part of nsra doin's. We go out on Wed. morning and sit and wait for the rental company to show up!! Tim

  11. I hope I see you. I want to look your car over. Usually park in center of big left parking lot at a tent with a bunch of old ford hotrods. Tim

I have never been so I don't know the layout of the facility. I will have the 34 in the Pro Pick area on Friday. Hopefully I will run into you there. 2015-07-27 04.50.51.jpg

You pay the tent guy $$$ for the size tent you want.

  19. Everybody should gas up before you get here. The price usually goes up just before the nats start. Also, check traffic on the web, we have bridge construction in two locations. Holler at me if you want to know anything, I may be able to help?? Tim

Bridge construction is the "norm" in that town!

Are there any gas stations in the vicinity of the KEC that sell racing fuel?

Several of us are traveling down old 31, crossing the Clark bridge, then Liberty to 1st and on to I-65 to Crittenden Dr. I've spent some time viewing the accident/construction info from WHAS 11 and see no problems. Any comment? Would appreciate your input. Thanks.

  23. Sounds like a fun time! The plan should work well. Check gas buddy on line for current gas prices. Like to see your car too. Tim

  24. Anyone that will be here on Tuesday, remember the get together at Mike Lennigs seafood place over on the far southwest side ( I think its Cane Run rd. Easy to get to however).
All American: I don't have a clue. Not sure how to figure it out. Can you bring additive or does that work.

Gonna be there Friday and Saturday as a spectator. First time in 3 years. It'll feel really different after all those years as a vendor.

  26. I am thinking about heading over early Saturday for the day in my tub. Any recommendations how to avoid the mess heading into town from the west. I'm coming from Evansville on I-64. It's usually a mess right before the bridges.

  27. Stay in the right lane at the end of the bridge and bear right. It brings you up to the fairgrounds without going through downtown. Tim

  28. Thanks man! Appreciate it!

264 can be kinda crazy too, 8 lanes or whatever. Oh well live or die tryin...hah!
