If it makes you feel any better, I bought an all original 37 v8 85hp and I paid a lot more than you did. Enjoy! 37GH.jpg

  7. She's a beaut Clark!

The thing is, right now it doesn't matter what it cost, you've got a grin on your face, it's in your driveway, and it looks to be in great condition.
    Nice time capsule.

It's been 5 minutes. Got it cleaned up yet? Looks like you did well on that with the price. I've always been a fan of the '37and '38 Fords. I came home from the hospital in my dad's '38 Deluxe coupe back in '65. I wish we still had that car.

It will have to just sit for awhile until I finish the coupe but it will eventually get the hot rod treatment.. Dropped, big and littles, new motivation and whatever...

Cool story. I came home from the horsepital in '47 in my Dad's '37 Humpback 4-dr. So I bought a '37 4-dr which I drove for 10 years. My wife is still pissed at me for selling it to a friend. I see it in the neighborhood, and still love it.

Hey, Dayton. Love your latest acquisition. My '37 was built with a 350, turbo 350, and a 9" Ford rear. There is a radiator-lowering kit that allows you to keep the stock firewall, straighten out the radiator angle somewhat, and also allow the use of a waterpump fan with shroud. It ran really cool, and the best thing was NO FIREWALL SETBACK.

Congratulations on your new purchase - it looks like you'll have no buyer's remorse with it.
I see it's already been rodded - I see it's got a 39 taillight!!! If you swap the flat rear tyre for one of the front ones, it'll even have some rake.
    Haha
Great looking basis of a hot rod sedan. I'm really looking forward to seeing this move forward (after you've finished your current project). I suggest a 2.5" chop.
Thanks for sharing your quest and showing us your new toy.

Awesome! Get it running, put new tires, service the brakes and drive it. Love the way it looks. No amount of $$ can buy time.

A V8-60 with a set of Red's Headers and Smithies makes a really REALLY pretty sound. They drive similar to other things that age . . until you get to 45 mph or so, and then it's pretty much finished. I drug a '38 standard coupe out of 51 year hibernation last year this time.
