I am certainly no Ford motor builder...but how did you know what length pushrods to order,did you preaasemble the engine?

 

That's the fun part:

I need to get the heads today,drive an hour back home,measure for the correct pushrod length,then order them and either have them overnighted to us,or,if we're out of time,have them sent to the track,and install them there...lol

Forgot to mention,lots of places stock sbf pushrods in increments of .050",so they should be shelf items.

 

I kew that I was just curious about the prods.... Ya better get those wrenches smoking!!!

 

For any of the local fellas - what's the closest parts store (odds n ends stuff, you know, just in case)? Did some searches, didn't come up with much, maybe I'm missin' it. Thanks.

Geez... 4 years ago we were the double dog dared idiots who came from 16 hours north. Folks never thought we would make the trek and everyone freaked out when we did... now there's half a dozen intrepid travelers coming 30+ from clear across the country. You guys are my heroes... I hope the pin map is back up this year. I love seeing where folks have come from to be there.

I can't help but notice the distinct lack of the folks complaining about coming from 3 or 4 hours away... or demanding tow money... those arguments don't seem very defensible these days... That's an amazing pat on the back for the event.

The Meltdown clock is ticking down very very fast... 14 of us in 4 vehicles, 1 trailer carrying 2 race cars are leaving 7:00 pm CST Wednesday night with the intent of being at the gate for the opening Thursday afternoon. Drive safe folks...

No problem... they are mainly chevy stuff but have been getting bigger and better....

 

Loading all of my shit up this evening and leaving out at 6am tomorrow morning! Leaving a good bit early so in case this chevy motorhome decides to act up. Hope to meet all of you in the next few days

 

That Chevy will git you there AND back MANY times old son!!!! Ya better speak gently about it.... after all....a chevy is a mans best friend!!!

Open until noon on Saturdays and closed Sundays. But owner (Stan) is a good guy and I'm sure that he would support after-hour emergencies.
