I have too much motor for a 4 speed...at least, for one that I could afford. A TH400 is cheap.

I hear that Jim the four speed racing is costly.

I plan on going to that school.
What fun would it be just sitting around the pits.

Ok - pretty sure I won't be wandering around with a shotgun and explosives - can't afford it.
    Dyno runs - $600
Dyno killed the slicks - $800 (ok they were old and due but that's not good for the story)
Tow vehicle - slight vibration = new ball joints, front hubs, axle u joints and just for fun - AC repair = $3100

    And we haven't left yet

If you see a short chunky 50 something bearded guy selling Canadian beer for $10 a can - Please be generous

  11. The MDA members are 100+ miles from the track, but as of a week ago... it is GO MAN GO!!!

A little more rain today, but that is going to be it for the week. We haven't had a lot of rain the past two weeks until last night. The grass around the track drains exceptionally well. We walked the area about 4 weeks ago after a week of heavy rain and you never would have known it.

The last yellow is on...which means it is time to go! (Unless of course you are driving a mustang)

thanks for info on the weather and conditions around track! looking forward to it!

  21. the coupe is ready. the testing went well and is done. i was able to get a 1.34 60 foot with the rear wheels. with so much attention on the coupe lately i have neglected maintenance on the trailer. i noticed the shackles were completely worn out. the holes were so worn out the ends were open. very close to falling apart. the cast iron center pivot holes were all worn out also. this turned into new shackles, center pivot, bolts, bushings, brakes and packing bearings. basically a complete suspension over haul. everyone look at your trailers i was lucky and avoided a huge disaster. you want to arrive and return safe. there is still time to look things over.

I got to my trailer last week...but still got to do a little more on it today to get the brakes working right. Loading up and heading out bright and early. And I'm going to see about catching part of the Rocky Mountain Race Week on the way...Great Bend and Kearney are on the route, and I know several guys (and a couple gals) who are racing. Should be fun!

Hauling the car with my 57 suburban...it's about 1700 miles to get there from here. If it were only a few hundred miles, I'd drive.
