My dad went to a local auction yesterday that an older fellow we know was holding way, way, way out in the sticks to check out this relic. While on my way home from work, I got the call from my boy to bring a trailer! Here she is a California body 1920 turtle deck roadster. Has a cedar home made bed that I took off when I got it home. Super nice body for 95 years old! Last ran in 1991 then shoved in the barn. Looks better with the bed gone ....... Here's the turtle deck , but it goes with the other car . Bummer , this ride was a no sale , here's a pic of it One of my favorite pics is always an on the way home "in tow" shot Top bows & goodies in pickup bed! In her new home. Now the thought process begins. I'm envisioning a pickup bed which leads me to this question........will an actual T pick up bed be an easy install & I presume the body tubs are the same as the turtle decks? We live in pickup country and a truck bed just seems appropriate. Hope you liked the pics! Flux
Congratulations on pickup up a cool old T, as for the truck bed I'm not sure but i don't think it would be hard to get one to fit. HRP
I'd leave it "like found" except for the bed.......You can't go back to original. Enjoy ! Nice find .
Neat score. Deserves to be saved. I agree with Orangeamc; looks like a Brother watching his sib go off to a different foster home. Sad Why the "no sale" on the Roadster? Didn't meet reserve?
I'm enjoying the dust & dirt dobbers houses. It's going to be hard for me to leave it as is, "original" , my wife's pushing for that & i will have a hard time doing that. More than likely I'll get it up & rolling as. Is until I finish our 53 car build. We stopped to get a some food on the way home & had a load of folks stop to see it. There truly is something magnetic that draws people to these historical Henry steel gems. Flux Original key? Looks so
