This shot appeared on George Klass's site. Tony Nancy near side (this car has been on this thread several times), but I don't know whose A/H roadster he is racing, anyone recognize it? This shot pretty well captures what drag roadsters were all about. I'm not sure on the track, maybe Santa Ana, but it could be Paradise Mesa, or...?

Man this thread needs to be brought back up to the top. Here's some photos of one of my favorite drag roadsters. Dave Shuten knocked it out of the ballpark on this build. 22. Just no way of making a roll bar look good on a Roadster.

  23. I never thought this one looked bad.

  25. Not bad... But I've not seen one that I'd be proud to run on my Roadster that would be NHRA approved and won't overload the senses like a labyrinth plumbing project gone wrong.

If you've been skittering down the track upside down at 140+ I'll bet they look beautiful to the driver.

  27. Correct... I don't want to be "Cheese Grated" but I would love to see one that'll look good and work

  28. Was never upside down in my roadster, but was upside down for 9 hits in an altered Stude at El Mirage. After that I never saw a roll bar/cage that I didn love!!

I wanted to run a roll bar on my roadster I'm building, but with it being a channeled T and me being 6'3", it would've looked pretty out of proportion. If I had an A or a 32 I'd run one. When done right I think they look pretty good.
