I have 2 a 1951 Merc rear window that I would love to sell to someone who will use it. A few chips on the edges from removal from the old car. I'm in WA and I know shipping can be a bit pricey. Name your price...

 

Does anyone have a parts car with a good rear window channel that could be cut out?

Any ideas on what radiator will fix the Merc when using a SBC? I have been told the 73-75 dodge pick-up will work, any other thoughts?

 

51, I am wrapping up the repair of my radiator using the dodge truck part. I'll take some pics and post the part number I used when I get back home tonight. I had to modify the mounting brackets to make it fit, but, the brackets unbolt from the core. If you need to change it, just put them on the new core.

I think I'm going to try the Eastwood tri-flow radiator in my '50. It has a SBC and some thin radiator right now and it won't cool it at car shows.

 

What are the Eastwood model number?

 

They only have 3 sizes of that radiator, can trim the tabs on the sides to fit.

 

What size? My radiator is not in the car and the nose is off the car.

 

I can measure my radiator and mount when I get home

51, here's my truck radiator. My Oreillys part number is MHT 433511.



You can see that I trimmed about 1/2" off the outside of one side of the brackets. One plus is that the front side of the brackets have studs for an A/C condenser.

Jk, it looks like you put the radiator in the channels of the radiator support, that looks like where mine would go. Is the hose inlet on the bottom resting on the lip?

 

jkluge, do you have a shot of the other side? I like the aluminum radiator, so the other view will help, thanks!

 

It's in the channel and it fits really well. There's just enough room to slip the hose onto the lower pipe. The yolk can be clearanced if needed.

Also, search the number cu889 for the radiator I used.

 

I ordered the radiator from Oreillys MHT 433511 but it is copper and not as wide!

I may end up going the Eastwood way myself. I have order several radiators and when they arrive the are all plastic and aluminum. I am really trying to avoid plastic if I can.

 

Three more radiators came in as plastic, rats!

We'll 6 radiators later, all plastic and aluminum! Most go the catalogues show them as copper in the specifications, ranging from $135.00 to$185.00. When I called The supplier, the asked if I wanted plastic or metal, when it said metal the price jumped to $260.00.

 

Well checked Craig's list found a 3 row radiator for $60.00!
