Look I g at building a 671 blown street motor for my nova. Came across this deal and was wondering if a 74cc head would give me a CR at or around 8.5-1. Thanks alot https://panamacity.craigslist.org/pts/5087712901.html
Yes second key is a must. I am just starting from scratch on the motor so wasn't sure if u should scoop this up.
It might work for what you want to do. Or it might be better to set it up with dished pistons. Kind of depends on what boost, what fuel, what heads you plan to run.
Sorry, didn't see the link. Try using this compression ratio calculator, it's on a Pontiac site but it of course works for any brand engine:http://www.wallaceracing.com/cr_test2.php
It will be a street car 100% of the time,93 0ctane pump fuel and aluminum heads. Today was the first day I actually started looking at parts.
maybe you put in the wrong numbers? this is what I got with some rough numbers. Your displacement is 355.12 CID The Compression Ratio is: 10.17
Yea man, thats not going to get it. I will just put together a parts list and do it right. I just purchased a book called street supercharging by pat Ganahl, I will start reading it tomorrow. Im sure I will be back around with more questions haha. Thanks for the help.
What a cool chart! I was wondering what mine is with huge-chamber heads and pop-up pistons...came out to 9.52. That's liveable.
Block and pistons only? Could be a good price, especially if you use a thick head gasket and 76cc chamber heads; could be 8.5 or lower.. Those are some deep valve pockets in those pistons. Need a forged aftermarket crank I'm not going to use. The CH height on those pistons are with a 6 inch long rod, another few $$$. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
