What a great truck. The remake turned out spectacular. Funny blog as well, Ryan. Hope you don't get a bunch of hate mail from the LGBTS community!
where the hell did his thread go when he bought the blue truck?...can't find it anywhere...and it's not on his Profile page. ...conspiracy theory?
found it...wasn't a dedicated thread like I thought...he debuted it in the 32-34 pickup thread...post #591. I'm weird, but I like this version better
I tend to go for more subtle cars as well... and I'll always be into cars styled as if they were from the late 40's and early 50's... That being said, I really like what Dave did to this truck. It's so focused and done so well. It reminds me of something Lee Pratt would have in his head. I can't find a single thing on the truck that I would have done differently.
I like it in either rendition! At first I was worried it was the blue survivor Bob Bleed truck, but then I remembered it being a '34................. any pics of it about? Love what he's done with it, course I've always been a bit of a flake, myself!
Bleed's old truck is still in Texas I think... Another reason to fall for Dave's version - there are a lot of early 30's trucks rolling around in Washington Blue. Some of them done really well (remember that '34 that Jimmy White did a few years ago?) and others not so well.
Mungle has the white one, not sure where the blue one went.................I was sure in love with it, though
Word. Jimmy is a neighbor of mine. Fantastic guy. A few months ago, it was raining... and freezing damn cold. I sat at a stoplight in my '64 F100 with no heater and no defroster and cussed the people that surrounded me in their modern cushy and comfortable cars. Just then, Jimmy pulled into the turning lane in that old truck - freezing his ass off and smiling wide. I love that guy.
Love Dave's truck --- he's certainly made it his own. It was great to see him and check it out at the Vintage Torque Fest! Malcolm
That truck is flat-out beautiful! Can we get some more details on the paint? I feel another model project coming on...
I love 32-34 trucks and thought it was pretty sweet in blue. I was kind of surprised when Dave set into the complete redo. Obviously I never saw the truck with my own eyes to realize how rough it was. Now that truck is iconic.
Tim, the only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely FREE that your very existence is an act of rebellion. Someone smart said something like that at one point or another. And whoever that was, would be just as proud of you as I am today.
So the gold one is the hay truck (big rig) turn hot pick up? But @3wLarry did you forget the link to the blue truck? Patiently waiting for a link to the build thread!!
Haha this whole write up makes it totally worth while that we froze our asses off that day in Detroit shooting Dave's awesome truck. Marcy
Love the truck - every damn thing. The paint, the chrome on the engine, the interior. Looks straight out of an "Armory Car Show". Congrats!!
