Thanks fellas! Jeremy, the cream firewall was always the plan. The steelies and tuck n' roll interior will be cream too! ;)

Thanks guys! Yep Dick, Brad King in So Cal will be doing the striping duties. The man is talented!

Again, thanks! The wife is totally stoked! We went to check it out in person today. Here's what we saw....

So needless to say, she's stoked! And she's stoked its not PINK in the sun like the first time we painted the chassis! Here's a reminder of that disaster...

    1433042569432.jpg

I totally dug the pink. I would have driven it like that!

We'll be doing the cut and buff over the next few weeks so I'll post detail pics as that happens. It'll be a little slow for the next week or so as we have a niece's wedding next weekend and 20 family members crashing at our house for a week. Hmmm... maybe I should disappear to Bob's after all!

If you can get away with that, hell yes! It is for Victoria, afterall, how mad can she get about that?

Thanks Brad, glad you like it!
Thanks Jeremy, it'll be done by the time you get here for sure! Too bad you won't make it this year.
    Muchas gracias Jeff!

This is all Bob's hard work, I've "helped" a little with mostly unskilled labor, LOL. The car is turning out so much better than I anticipated! We're not talking Ridler contender or AMBR winner, but one of the nicest cars that have come out of a backyard shop ever!

  7. For me, the backyard builder is the cornerstone of this hobby/obsession, Kudos to Bob for turning out a great project.

Guess I am just prejudice, but I like Cream firewalls to. Looking great Eric. Mark.

Me too brother. Here's my previous driver. It lives in Austin Texas now with fenders.

Here's a fun one when we had all the kids together one weekend. We took two cars to the spot and the kids were fighting over who got to go in the Tudor, as usual.

Victoria really liked the cream firewall on that car so I guess that's where the idea for this one comes from.

Well that hardly showed the firewall at all. Here's one with my dad's '32 parked next to me.

I found a pic of what Victoria wants HER interior to look like. Yes, it's her car. She fell in love with this '48-53 Chevy pickup at GNRS 2014 so I snapped a pic.

Now I have to find imprinted vinyl like the top of this seat. I think its called brocade.

  16. Just about any large car in the late '60s to late '70s offered the brocade interior option so I wouldn't think it would be THAT hard to find it. (He said, guessing and hoping he was close to correct....hey, a squirrel!)

Hoping that's the case. Of course I don't see anyone repopping FINE CORRRRINTHIAN LEATHER.

That's it! Thanks man!!!!!!! I'll order a sample today.
Thank you Hivolt, these are her color and material choices. She has a real knack for putting things together. Our house is an awesome mixture of antique and new.

I saw that same vinyl, or one very similar but it was black at Joanne's craft store. They may have had other colors, I was just quickly browsing their fabric.

Yeah, you sure cleaned up that mess Don!

    Me either! :D
No kidding? We have one in town, I'll have to go take a look. Katzskin won't send me a sample, they say to see their dealers. Fortunately there's one of those in town too!

Eric, That is a great looking sedan. I would love to see that parked next to my roadster. Top up, and top down. By the way. Trying out some white walls and spinners for a change. Mark.

Thanks Eric, but I think you just might have an edge over me when yours is finished. Perhaps run them side by side at Bonneville. Mark.

Yup! It's funny because I thought that was cool vinyl and showed my wife. They also had a brown basket weave looking vinyl that I thought would look cool in a hot rod.

Wife already wants to run the USFRA class at Bonneville. I think we just need a roll bar and not exceed 120 mph. You're on!
Ha! If I can get over this cold in the next few days I'll get out and check!
