Love the colour. Any pics of how the 46/48 wishbone works to clear the T5. Heck if this works so easy , we will have to the same in our upcoming32 build.
Easy as. Have you compensated for the caster change , does the front spring still slide into the front x member easily. Does it all work because the 46/48 wishbone has a built in drop?
The front spring slides right into place, but the x members where installed to fit this wishbone. The caster angle is fine, although I don't remember the figure. I drove the car for over a year and if anything it could use a little less caster. It's very stable, no wobbles, just takes some muscle especially stopped or at low speed. A lot of that is probably the stock '32 steering box.
Hey guys, I apologize. The wishbone was modified slightly. The ball was extended back about an inch to get everything to line up correctly. It's been several years and I forgot about that.
Thanks, I've used the color combination before. Seems like a waste to throw away perfectly good leftover paint. The spreader bar is some leftover streamlined tubing. Just something to be different.
Is that superbell axle 47" or 48" wide? How is the front lower shock mount mounted to the axle...pics please. inquirin' minds...
The axle is 48". The shock mounts are attached to the end of the wishbone. The flat nose on the wishbone was drilled and tapped to accept the shock mount, then welded around the perimeter to keep it from spinning out.
Got the black parts out of the booth yesterday. I wanted to get them organized and stored until they fully cure, but I couldn't resist starting to reassemble.
I like the color, its almost like Model A banger factory engine paint, which my wheels, dash and engine are painted, yours is just a few shades lighter. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out assembled.
