Can anyone point me at who made (or makes) a trans adapter for a 401 Nailhead to early 3 speed Ford??

Thanks but from experience I have learned that most of them out there are for the 264-322s. The Cragar 0309s.

His listing doesn't specify but I have reached out to him anyway. Thanks for the pointer.

  4. I'm pretty sure Wilcap doesn't have one , but I think they do custom adaptors. Probably quite pricey to have one custom made though.:)

Would it not make better sense to use a stronger period trans (Buick, Cad LaSalle) which would bolt up to the Buick bellhousing or a newer 5-speed, either of which would be MUCH stronger than the Ford box? Just saying.

Lucas, the trans wont be an early 3-speed. It is just the adapter needed. Confusing I know...

Im pretty sure Offy did. I was looking at one on the weekend, and I bought it but I can't remember who made it. I also didn't take a photo of it. but will email my old man to do so and will post it up here for you ( it might take a few days to get that all sorted)

    It's set up as a 401 to a T5.

The second link has an adapter shown for the later nailheads....'57 thru '66......to early Ford. Fourth row down, second from the left.

Thanks, totally missed that one. I REALLY REALLY don't like dealing with that guy but might have to do so.
