Neat save on the steering wheel. I've got the same one hanging in my shed, but it'll probably get a stock resto.

I started looking at the void behind the seat. I was originally thinking no back seat. The space was just a bit big for nothing so I started to play around with a folding bus seat I had . A bit of acut and shut and it suddenly seems like it could work.

I widened the seat so needed something to fill the void so an armrest from a 53 coupe donated its folding mech.

 

i love your project! beautiful in every way. could you please give more detail on the steering wheel? did you brush on the resin or....

 

It was very simple. polyester rope from hardware store ,cheap. i just wound the rope round and round and then soaked the resin in with brush. I did weld another 6mm rod to the back edge og the bare 10mm rim to give the grip an oval shape. it took about 4 coats and sanding in between with 40 grit to smootb it out.
if i knew the pattern would come out so nice i would have spent extra time doing neater pattern around spokes.

thanks, i wonder how it would look if you used cotton rope and stained/dyed a color? just a thought for future projects.

some custom matching luggage would be neat. you could build in some hold downs on the the seat back (when folded down). maybe use some leather belts/straps to hold them. i think the would be classy and match the era and elegance of the car.

I like the idea for the fitted luggage. . . soon as ithink of straps and leather , thr gimp from Pulp Fiction jumps into my head.

Unfortunately there are too many jobs where something good is made to stupidly odd, but
here you take good and made it excellent. Great sense of style and skills in classic automotive styling!
