What makes your hot rod different?

Because it's a chevy and the Orange motor actually matches the car.

 

Because it's frame, frontend, steering arms, grill, and push bumper are all polished steel with clear powder oat, because I'm to poor for chrome.

 

What makes my hot rod different?
A Triumph frame, a rear mounted Austin mini engine, a home made body, taillights made from '38 Chevy headlight pods with '64 Falcon lenses, Guide headlamp shells with more '64 Falcon inserts adapted to take sealed beams, Mack AC styled snout. That's all I can think of for now

chopped 36 International grill
37 Plymouth headlights
S curve pitman arm
55-59 Chevy pickup mirrors upside down
belt-line bead on homemade hood ending on the grill shell
---- and it gets driven a lot.

There's been three Essex mentioned so far in this thread, and they were a Hudson product, I have a 28 and 29 Hudson, not Essex. They are slightly larger than the Essex, and so far, I'm the first since this thread began, to have late twenties Hudson's.

Ditto. Nothing different or unique here...just an old Ford with an obsolete motor, antiquated brakes, and belly-button styling. I'm just painting by numbers.

Mine is regularly street driven, is non traditional but 60's inspired and legitimately runs low 9's. Makes the new hi-po cars look stupid off a street light.

 

Mine's different because it is a Chevy...with a SBC motor...that was originally built and installed in a Ford...then transplanted into the Chevy.

 

My 29 Ford has a SBF instead of the normal SBC

 

It is because I seem to always like something on my builds to be different in a one of a kind sort of way while still retaining some of the stock look.

Here goes. '40 Ford deluxe coupe. All home built, with the following;
'39 rear fenders with the tail lights turned up-side down. Orange with dark Gold and Tangerine Metal Flake.
'65 426 Chrysler Marine short block, ported heads, '63 Max Wedge intake and '64 Max Wedge carbs.
Stahl up-sweep dragster headers. Turned up-side down and modified to make fender-wells.
Mufflers out of '67 Corvette side pipes. Mounted under the running boards.
'65 Imperial push button trans. With '64 New Yorker buttons in a home made floor mount.
'67 GTX rear axle. Mounted on '68 Dodge pick-up front leaf springs.
Stock front axle (drilled and plated), buggy spring and wish bone. With a home made wish bone mount.
'63 Dodge brake pedal and bracket. Converted to mount a Mustang master cylinder, all under the dash.
'68 Nova steering box on a home made bracket. '67 Corvair steering column, modified.
C-J Jeep 4 inch dropped pitman arm.
'66 Fury throttle pedal assy. Modified with the cable shortened.
Main hoop of the roll bar made out of a Police paddy wagon divider.
All this and more is why I call the thing "Alphabet Soup". Gene.

 

Non SBC power plant. It's running a 472 Caddy.

 

This makes my 48 Plymouth kinda different. The car had to be rewired, and I really like electrical work, especially panel work, so here's what I ended up with. It gets a lot of comments at car shows.

 

I'm a wire nut too - do very similar work, that is clean as hell !! Well done. !

 

I went a different direction with my 1930 Chevy.
