Projects '24 T Roadster build

Discussion in 'Traditional Hot Rods' started by Anderson, Aug 21, 2012.

  1. Am I just looking at it wrong, or is your water neck missing the neck? o_O

  2. I don't see hoses on there at all.... yeah what's up with the water outlets?

Looks like the beginnings of a custom waterneck. It looks to be in mockup since no bolts in the neck or intake. A stock neck probably interferes with everything.

Nice, Really Nice. You could always sell me the Pullmax, then you maybe could afford to finish that little gem properly.....(!!!).....:D:D:D

  11. It's great having your car at work. Ive brought my T into the workshop and I've got more done on it in 3 weeks than I have in 6 months!

Following this all the time. Looking great. I can't wait to see it with the body painted and one the chassis for that last time. Keep pounding away!

This Hot Rod just keeps getting better! I hope you do a little video so that we can share the start up with you.

  16. Refreshing, classy, and some smart detail that makes it a stunning little car, certainly a credit to you and your persistence.

    Fabulous work!

  18. Strange. I just checked my 303 that's out in the garage. The block only has one bolt hole, and the distributor is a simple wishbone shaped hold down. I know both my 324's have the same style hold down, and I believe my other 303 is the same (though I don't have it here to check). Regardless, it looks like you've sorted out a solution that will work just fine.

We can figure all of that out after LSR. Just "getter' done." I put in a '50 303 in my first car, a '38 coupe, in '61. It had an Offenhauser 3X2 and I do not remember what held the distributor in place. I do though have vivid memories of being towed for the first startup and being engulfed in balls of flames as a result of progressive aggressive carb priming before we figured out there was supposed to be a fuel pump lobe bolted to the front of the cam. Hell, we were Flathead guys and had never seen a box full of Olds parts.

Remember that the firing order is 1-8-7-3-6-5-4-2 ! These engines came with the 4-7 swap right from the factory!

I've only been to LSR once. I wish it was this year.

    Looks great!
The '49 distributor hold down was a two piece affair, I can post a picture later for the curious, but what you have there will work fine.
    Love this build!
