sounds rad i've always liked the look and simplicity of the "track" style exhaust

Does anyone know of a radiator that fits in the tiny '60-'63 rad support opening? preferably 3 core I'd love a custom made one but couldnt afford it I was thinking V8 mustang II does anyone remember what year they changed sides for the waterpump exit on the small block?

 

64-66 Mustang radiator has pass inlet/outlet and same mounting flange 60-65 Falcon.
Most all 351W have driver's side w/pump outlet.
First year for 302/5.0 Windsor based SBF driver's side w/ pump outlet is 83, I think.
But I'm heavily medicated today so I could be wrong.

 

Thanks Burnt isnt that Mustang rad a tad too tall for the early rad support? or am I thinking of the '66-'69 Falcon rad? one I know is too tall

 

I have both '63 Falcon and '65 Mustang 3 core 18" radiators and they are identical and they keep my 302 cool with just a mechanical 5 blade fan.
I believe Ford changed the outlet in '69-'70.

 

Thanks Mike I put a mid 70's 250 Maverick 6 cyl rad in a '64 Falcon once and I believe i had to significantly alter the rad support and I also stuck a 67 Falcon rad (maybe its closer to the fairlane? in size than the mustang) in a '68 Mustang (out of necessity) and it was too tall....I think you are right those two options are out .....is your '63 Falcon rad from a V8? I thought you had to at least notch the support to use the 64.5-66 Mustang rad? but I have C.R.S. (can't remember sh...)

 

I have an aluminum CHICOM 3 core with driver's side outlet radiator for 64-66 Mustang and the hood closes fine.
Somebody gave me a Mr Gasket Thermocap with a temp gauge in it and the added thickness of the cap wouldn't let the hood close. Regular cap worked fine.
I believe 67 up radiators are larger.

Mine are both V8 radiators.

 

I tried my had at squirting some paint on my Falcon. It's a single stage Wimbledon White. I've never done this so its been a steep learning curve. I don't have a bunch of bucks in equipment for paint. Honestly I'm really relying on the meticulous prep work to make this come together nicely. I have shot out of a few different budget guns and oddly enough I've had the best luck with my 20 dollar Harbor freight purple gun. Yes I'm in my garage, yes there is probably junk in the paint. But I'm fairly please how its coming out.

 

I finished spraying the car today. It's obvious that I am going to spend some time color sanding and buffing. I'm still pleased with the outcome as I expected the cut and buff would be necessary to really make it look nice. Some areas have a lot of overspray as well. If I were to do It again, I'd buy a better gun. All in, it has cost me about $250 to paint the car. Pictures after color sanding... May be a while. Thanks for looking.

 

When it comes to automobiles, there ain't much that I haven't done- with one exception: body work and paint.
(Although I did once spray bomb my entire 1957 VW Type I with gray primer back in high school, but that don't really count.)
Good on you for having the balls to boldly go where most of us would never attempt to go in our garages.

Thanks. I just got tired of not having the thing painted and the prices people want for a paint job are just insane if you ask me, and outta my reach. So I figured I would give it a shot. It's a lot of work but hey, now it's one color and hopefully it'll be presentable!

ok now I'm excited. This looks way better than I was expecting. Also experienced a little set back. I put the paint on a little light on the bottom of the drivers door and sanded through it with 1000 grit. I should be able to blend it? Does anyone have any advice on blending a spot in? Thanks for the encouragement guys.
