No one has yet mentioned the 1960 Frontenac, which was a Falcon with Canada only trim such as maple leaf embossed hubcaps and steering wheel horn ring, and a special grille if I remember right.

    Much as I love a big six, this would be killer with a 3 x 2 348 and a 4-speed.

I'd love to own a Frontenac Fordor wagon. And is it just me? Or do those side spears look just like the ones on a '61 Falcon Futura?

When I had my '65 nova wagon, I spent two years trying to find an Acaidian grille, and taillights for it. no luck , but here in the south, it would have looked custom eh'.

Mmmm, 'cept the weather, if I never scraped windows or shoveled snow again it wouldn't bother me. Good car building season though.

As much as I hate winter and snow, I hate bugs even more.
Whenever the wife and I go to Texas or Oklahoma, I see bugs I have never seen before. Thousands of them
We may have cold up here ,but we don't have fire ants to bite us and huge spiders to name a couple

    FARGO.....just sound cooler than Dodge.

  13. I like them well enough. The Pontiacs maybe not as much as others, just because they are almost chevies but not quite either brand.

fargos are cool to the freakin bone by the way.

I am sure that I don't have a clue what a maple leaf is.

Always liked the tail light treatment the 1960 full size Canadian Ford received compared to the US version. If I remember right the 1963 & '64 Dart got the Valiant front sheet metal. Thought that was a cool look also. -Dave.

Dodge in Canada was funny like that, '58 Plymouth bodys with Chrysler front sheet metal, and stuff like that.

We didn't get a Dart 'til '67. Well, we did, but it had a Valiant front clip, and was sold as a Valiant, in fact at least in '63, Valiant was it's own line, didn't say Plymouth anywhere on it.

Maple Leafs were either Chevy or GMC. A friend has one so I'll ask him. I have a '42 FARGO which is cool but is being a pain in the butt lately but I will win.

I think you Canadians have it somewhat over us. I never knew Mercury made a truck until a buddy ended up with a '51 half-ton truck. In fact, lots of us are just plain jealous Ford never made Utes for the U.S. There are hoards of trucks, but no Utes. I often wondered if Ford figured y'all were hauling kangeroos and we were not. Anyone who can build rides in Canadian weather earns my respect.

'54 Mercs are rather rare for some reason, in Texas at least. They are so much more elegant than their Ford counterparts (I like all of them). Your Monarch is really classy.

Say, Bud. Do you guys ever build "leadsleds" out of your Monarchs like Merc owners here so often do ? I am referring to '49-'51 versions. I don't recall ever seeing a 'sled from Canada that someone called a Monarch. Just wunnerin'.

I have seen some Monarch sleds. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your taste) I believe people make their '49-51 Monarch's look more like Merc's. After all most of the stuff that make it a Monarch are often replaced with custom stuff ie: grill and trim whether it's a Merc or a Monarch.

Also, a lot of people call Monarch's Merc's.
