I was just reading all the work you have been doing I have a 1941 special deluxe with a lot of the same issues I need to do the rockers can you give me some info on the process on cutting them out and installing the new ones what to watch out for and I am new to this is this something I can do or should I let a pro do this it looks easy to me but I know looks can be deceiving

So I got into the passenger side this weekend. wasn't too bad, but there is definitely some replacement needed. can anyone tell me how this becomes sealed off? does the floor weld to the backside of the cowl? seems like that would show thru to the outside, but maybe not.
Made some good progress tonight. Got the passenger side rear inner fender mostly patched up. Few more things and then some minor work on the car where it attaches. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
I have patched the trunk floor and repaired the rear-most crossmember. almost time to start putting the wheelhouses back in. Anyone know how exactly the bottom of the body connects to the trunk floor / crossmember?

Great work and progress man! I saw your post where you got unmotivated last winter and I feel that same thing kicking in this week. I hope it passes! Did you ever figure out tying in the floor pan to the rocker?
I think so. I got the drivers side all closed in. I actually bought a different set of rockers from a group in Michigan. they were WAY cheaper, and seemed simpler. I think I'm going to forgo the little rib that's on the inside of the door, but we shall see. And the LUL from last winter is gone. Been messing with it as much as I can.
Subscribed to this one....building a '36 standard 5/W.....and in the throws of installing my Fatman MII and my CE rear spring/swaybar kit just like you are. I have the same issues with the repairing the inside of my rear wheel wells but the running boards on the car saved the doors/rockers. Good stuff!!!
@ChucksCrib - I need to look at your '36. Grandpa has a '37 that has become clear he will never start let alone finish. That will be my next project. My goal for that is like this one, only dark cranberry/wine color, cause that was the color he wanted it.
Finally back on the sedan. Got the quarter tacked and the floor replaced behind it. Also have the drivers side inner fender back together and ready to weld back in. Just waiting to get the passenger side to the same point.
And of course the reason I was away from the car for a bit. Got the future shop all up and dried in. Saving for concrete now.
I thought the rust in my 41 poncho was bad - after seeing your Chevy I was lucky !! I'm enjoying your build. BTW any reason for using a timber frame in preference to steel for the shed?
I used the wood because we were able to build it this far without the slab. For a steel frame, I would have needed the slab first. Additionally, I grew up with wood barns. Dad and I felt a lot more comfortable with it.
That's fine, I like timber as well. I was just curious, as I see steel construction in about 50% of residential construction all the time.
We have built wood structured my whole life. Framed Houses to pay for college. More of a comfort level thing.

Hello everybody. I have a uncle who has a 1941 Sedan 2 door for sale. He has extra parts for it as well. I will get pictures I am surprised he is selling it but he is on Hospice and no longer wants it. I will get pictures up soon. We are located in southern california.
