Guys, After a lot of looking I found an A coupe Body and brought it home, can anyone tell me what lights it had when it was over there? (it was imported from the U.S. ). Second photo is holes cut into the rear floor rails, seen this before but why was it done? Thanks
That area of the sub rail rusted out a lot.. There used to be a wood block under it and a through bolt that bolted to the frame.. Looks like they just dressed it up a bit instead of repairing it...
As Scrap Metal 48 stated, that area of the rear sub-frame is where the rear wood body block mounts to the rear cross-member. It is very common area for this area to rust out or have stress cracks.
They are 41-48 Chevy as already mentioned. I have them in a coupe. You can see in the pic that the studs in the housing match you holes...one is centered and one is off-set.
I think the offset stud man wins! Ill go find a set, don't think this was ever a show car but its seen some use funny how they cut the rust from the floor rail then just left it that way. Thanks Guys (distance between studs should it matter is 103.4mm a smidge over 4")
