Couldn't find a photo of the actual donor car, but my C Cab looked pretty much like this:

  8. The old car actually is a good lookin' old heap for ford, but that dude in the pics needs a hair cut and a shave real bad. ;)

Oh the closest thing I got to a hot rod these days is this old scooter and it looked like this the day I rode it home:

    Now it looks like this:

My other piece of crap is this old willys that looked a lot like this when it came home to me:

Now it looks like this not much of a change I am afraid:

Guess I don't currently own a hot rod, or even a hot rod project but you guys could change all that. ;)

  12. I hate to say this but we really haven't changed much since high school have we. You still drive deuces and I still drive whatever I can lay my hands on, you are still a long haired bearded germ and I am still a long haired bearded germ. We are both still married to the prettiest girl in the school, of course if we had gone to the same school you wouldn't have been married to the prettiest girl in the school. ;)

By the way I like what you did or didn't do with the old sedan.

Thanks, I appreciate that a lot.

I am not partial to the flames myself, but its just paint I'll get around to it eventually. Bikes are not HAMB fodder any more but a man has got to have transportation. ;)

Give ourselves a pat on the back for getting through all the builds. A lot of work, worry and money!
There isn't a lot of people that can take a piece of rusty metal, see a vision and make it happen!

  19. My little brother was as bald as a billiard ball when we were about 18, he always said, "god made a few perfect heads and he out hair on the rest of 'em." I have seen my head with no hair and I do believe he may have been onto something. ;)

12+ years. to build it, with tons of help from good friends !.. ughh !
then the first two years, bending wrist pins, killing pistons, and head gaskets. ya know, learning stuff !! (trying to be rock-star, and run 44 PSI boost and drive it to work) had to turn it waaaay down (20 PSI now)
best riding car I've ever built, and the A/C is c-o-l-d!!

wow ! lots of awesome transformations here !!! unknown amount of work/man hours/engineering.
then as soon as you pull it out of the garage.. is that a rat rod? my neighbor has a car exactly like it,i'll bet it rides terrible,i wouldn't have done it like that. you name it, i think i've heard them all !!

  26. There are a bunch of very talented people on this forum, but Jim, you are a legendary builder of renown around here. I do believe you could build a car out of a few old rusty beer cans..
