Man I love this car. I think owning a car like this would be difficult, I would really struggle between keeping it in as built condition and making it my own. Good luck.

These blocks came with both 3 1/16 and 3 3/16 bore. The Mercury and truck engines had the bigger bore so you may have plenty of wall left in the cylinders if it was one of those. The Fords had the smaller bore. Also, you may know this but it looks to me as you have a keystone block because of the coolant holes toward the middle of the block where the heads go. Other blocks have round holes. What that says is you have a good block.

Well some updates. Motor is back for me to finish assembly. Master cylinders are back from being rebuilt. Carburators have been rebuilt internally by Dick York and are back in my possession. Hopefully by the end of the month it will be close to being back together unnamed (24).jpg unnamed (22).jpg unnamed (23).jpg

Unreal man. That thing was probably a half hour away from me for so long. I'm sorry if I missed it but are you still in NJ or the east coast?

Looks like a stock crab style to me but I'm newer to flatheads. I know its a dual point. Not sure if they were from the factory or not. I'll get a pic tomorrow

  19. There is a round plate behind the distributor, I thought it was part of it. It must be a spacer due to the early longer cam and converts a 3 bolt timing gear cover to accept a 2 bolt distributor

  20. You and Dennis are really killing me! when I was 10 a man moved in next door and brought this32 coupe with him, It was half finished but was cool as hell, he is the reason I am into cars today. that was Chicago1968. well here it is 2015 Im in Chattanooga and the still unfinished car is in Tennessee also, only about 2 hrs from me. I have visited him a couple of times but haven,t asked if he would sell it yet! But after reading about Snewpee and stewing on it and how cool it is and now this beautiful car popping up I gotta go see the man. Total congrats on the car it's so cool.

Well it's moving right along. Keep getting slowed up waiting on small parts. If all goes well motor should be back in this weekend. Flathead is going back to its original dark green. Almost all the wiring is done. Had to repair 3 of the early 60's SW gauges. Brake and clutch cylinders were rebuilt and mostly installed. Fingers image.jpg image.jpg crossed it will be ready for Autorama!

    Love it!
Except that fuel pressure regulator. I've had two of them fail on the road.

I hear you on the regulator. Theyre junk. I'll replace it with something better a little later. Too much on the burner right now.

Ok finally got the drivers side head on. Only took about a week of thinking and brute force to get it on. None of the lower studs were at the same angle. 3 Had helicoils and others the threads just weren't the best. But after some massaging finally got them to line up enough to get the head on. If this wasn't the original engine I would've scrapped it.

I'm starting to second guess myself on the engine color. I wasn't a big fan of the red engine since the interior is yellow and green and body green. Four colors just seems to much to me. But I guess there's no going back now. I know it used to be green. I'm hoping it still looks right.

It's a reversible change. It's just paint. Don't sweat it.
