Customs 1956 Buick Wagon updating with some pics and a short video

Here is a picture of my 1956 Buick Wagon. It's gone through some major updates I'll list them as follows:
1. Complete re-wiring job
2. New rebuilt 401 Dual Quad motor adapted to a 700R4 Transmission
3. New Vintage Air Heat/Cool System
4. Complete new interior
5. Four linked the Ford Rear End.
6. Custom Roller Rockers from Tom Telesco

Very nice build. I had a couple of questions if you don't mind:

1. How did you account for the cowl water drain in the plate you bolted your booster/master to?

2. In some of your older pictures, I noticed what looks like a flow control valve in the power steering pressure hose. Is that required for the conversion when using the stock pump?

There is a hose behind each plate that exit out the bottom, No control valve needed, I used the stock power steering pump from the 65 donor with the later 605 steering box.

 

I was referring to this picture from your old setup:



Is that a flow control fitting or a simple union? I plan on using the stock '56 power steering pump with the box but read that pump makes excessive noise without flow control.

Was wondering if you could provide some details on your wiper conversion as well. Thanks!

 

Wiper conversion is by Newport Engineering, very simple to install and works great. That was a simple union to adapt to the braided hose.

You need to do what is number 1 on his list
Pull every scrap of wire out of yours and start over with a good aftermarket wiring kit.

 

I am looking in to it .Kinda hard to find one for a 56 buick station wagon.Bruce.

 

I think that a good universal type kit that had all of the circuits and features you needed would work fine.
Unless you are doing a restoration there is no real reason to have a factory style harness or even one that looks like factory.

 

Bruce,just purchase a universal American Auto wire kit,IMHO it is the easiest most complete and detailed kit on the market and the instructions are in color. HRP
