Super excited for the knobs and steering wheel . I am super jealous of your column I looked for an automatic for a long time for mine. I want to see how the pearlized knobs turn out because I wanted to do the white ones for mine.

Eric how do you get your legs under the steering wheel, looks like it's awful close to the seat. Did you change the keyed hub for the splined one and what was involved in doing so?

Lol, I think that is an illusion. Yes we changed the hubs. We destroyed an old Ford wheel and removed the hub from the centre. We then set the Lincoln wheel up on a CNC machine and bored the centre out to match the Ford size. We pressed it in and TIG welded it from the back side. This could be done on a Bridgeport as well by dropping an end mill down through the Lincoln wheel.

I also popped in some NOS lenses without blue dots. It looks a little cleaner I think?

As much as I like blue dots, I think you're right. Any plans to remove the top quarter seams to further smooth out the rear?

image.jpg I taped thisVictoria trim on to help imagine a 4" chop. The rear bow will require an extra 2" drop I think.

  28. Looking fine Eric. I'll come and have a good look in Detroit in a few weeks.

I've got a Plymouth steering wheel that I'm thinking about running in my shoebox, I've been wondering about how to swap it in. You might have helped solve my problem.
