It was, because I brought it up, early on because 1) I really dig that movie 2) I'm going to Le Mans 2015.

Steve McQueen is such a cool guy, a carguy and such an awesome actor!

I like On any sunday, Le Mans and the getaway.

The Snake and Mongoose movie, is that any good? Does it do the icons any favours, or just Hollywood messing with history?

Deuce of spades, any good? Never seen eighter, and dont think they are commin to a Cinema near me, at all.

Never seen corvette summer, so that might be why I didnt pick up on the joke katuna. My bad :(

  2. I really liked the snake and mongoose movie.

A bit cheezy acting but the Vette and 56 were cool.

  9. I have a VHS, Laserdisc, and DVD player in my garage all in my entertainment corner hooked to a 32" TV on the wall. I have passed many hours watching a lot of these movies out there sitting between the woodstove and the beer fridge. Sometimes I even get some work done.

  11. Of course you said those, but how odd was it that an American mentioned Running on Empty first? ;)

World's Fastest Indian was great to take in. Hopkins portrays Burt Munro. My guess is you had to be there!

Watched Deuce of Spades last week with my GF.... Wasn't quite sure what to expect from a low budget indie film. BUT! It was very well done, good acting, good story and we both liked it!!! Two Lane Black Top put her to sleep, A.G.; she didn't like the music at all, she's a little younger than me :). It's always touch and go with women and car movies.

The deuce was period, In fact all the cars were, except for the SUV in a junkyard scene (and the chopped merc was great!)

BUT SHE LIKED IT! WHO KNEW!

    my list:
    AG
    Thunder Road
    Deuce Of Spades
    Two lane Blacktop
California Kid (much better movie if they changed the music from 70's noise to 50's classics)
Honorable mention: ZZ Top "Gotstah get paid" video

  15. Your post said "Hot Rod to hell" Not "Hot Rods To Hell" that is why we did not see it! Don't get all worked up:rolleyes:

There are a lot of good car movies and a lot have been "nominated" on this thread but only one movie really had a profound effect on me and that was American Graffiti. Maybe because I graduated from high school in 1960 but that film resonated with me, saw it in a little movie house in Red Wing, MN and walked away with grin that wouldn't quit!

I love this scene from The 7ups....the bad guy driver is just as cold as the Bullit driver.

Edit Bill Hickman drove both the black charger in Bullit and the big sedan in The 7ups......and drove in the French Connection chase. WOW!

  22. AG and More AG are the two I can completely relate to. Deuce of Spades is a good one too.
