Man, that is wicked. It gives me some righteous ideas for modifying the upcoming Revell '57 Del Rio wagon kit. Project #137...
I sold Paul my 34 sedan delivery in 1969 and he put one of his wild paint jobs on it. I still keep track of the car and his paintwork still shows.
Boy, does this bring back memories.... LOL. My first 'purpose built' fast car was a '58 Ford 2Dr wagon. Built 352 (427 valve train including cam, dual point distributor, aluminum 428 PI intake), heavy-duty toploader 3 speed (couldn't afford a 4-speed on my high-school budget), and 3.56 open rear gears (again, cheap... LOL). Not much off the line, but give me a 20 mph roll-on start and it was a terror..... I broke so many rear axles/third members that the local boneyard didn't even ask me what I wanted, just 'you know where they are' in the stacks when I came in...
Brings back memories of a lot of my favorite painters and pinstripes like Fenyo, who did several pieces for me and the Wolfman in Phoenix.I could watch those guys work for hours.Check this out:

Paul striped every new car my dad bought all the way back to the mid sixties, this was dads 61 ford that Paul striped. a true artist.
Thanks for sharing Pauls story... Old car/racing history is so cool and even coooler when it's a wagon! Sent from my LGMS210 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Can you imagine swapping out a 427 side oiler for a SOHC engine?! One iconic, rare engine for another. I mean just the idea of that is crazy to think about these days.
