I'd put those on my '69 GTO :D

  3. Depending on how they're made they should fit all Pontiac heads. '65 or so they get a little longer, you have to silicone the ends a bit to use them on earlier engines - or so I remember, it's been a while.

A matching valley cover would fit all of them too, at least some they kept the hole for the draft tube, it got a rubber plug and the PCV valve went there.

If that's the case, why do the Y block valve covers on your site cost $280 - $300 ?
Is there really that much of a difference in their construction?
    Just curious ....

Retro motors. The y block cost that much due to the fact I started with all new inner and outer tooling. Now with the pontiac valve the inner mold that was already available to me. There for the cost is a lot less since we had pre existing tooling available

Any availability dates? And are they or will they be tall enough to clear roller rockers?

  8. There is a difference in the valve covers between the 55 thru 59 and the later 326 thru 455 valve covers. Late covers on early engines will leak at the corners

definitely cool. hope you are able to make the sales that you want. Pontiac guys are a special breed and most are "numbers matching" or nothing. I think that is why a lot of pontiac speed equipment is always so plentiful and cheap. In any event, as a lover of things pontiac and not a numbers matching weenie, I dig the covers and will definitely be watching for when they come available.

  10. You hit that one out of the park!

Wish you made a similar for a centerbolt SBC or a perimeter bolt SBC. I'd be begging on bended kness for a set.

Where in the world are you finding this plentiful and cheap Pontiac speed equipment? I want some.

'step out of the box'... reminded me of a pal of mine in Paso Robles, 1965 or so. He had a pair of Cal Custom finned covers on his SBC in his '31 roadster. They got replaced with a pair of Morosos and hung in the barn. I asked about 'em, but when I went back to his house his Dad had 'em nailed to the porches, front and back.
Made perfect mud scrapers for Pop's boots...

I seen your Y block and Chev. ones at GNRS. I like the Chev. ones, hope you start production on them.

These custom rocker covers will fit all Pontiac V8s from the very first 287 built in 1955 all the way to end of production in 1981 when the anemic short-deck 265/301 economy engines were all that were left.

The only issue is the early factory valve covers are shallower so the '67 and later valve train won't clear them, the later rockers will dent the early covers unless you use a spacer to raise up the covers.

The valve angle changed from 20 degrees to 14 degrees in 1967, this was a transition year where the high-performance big-valve heads had the new 14 degree valve angle and the low-performance heads still retained the older 20 degree arrangement.

A deeper aftermarket cover is going to fit all of the '55 -'81 Pontiac V8s with no issues. The same valve cover gasket was used from 1955 -1981, there are no issues sealing them no matter what year head you put them on.
