Projects 1927 model T roadster build " Sweet Tea"

Discussion in 'Traditional Hot Rods' started by flyin flattie, Jul 27, 2012.

  1. Love the T !! Love 3WLarry too. You're doing great screwin' together your hot rod, and I'm positive if it didn't look as cool as it does now.....people like you mentioned wouldn't pay any mind to it. It's people like them, and you that keep me here to be honest. Just a few questions......nothing to bog your build down. Those guys rock. So do you ! Have some more turkey, drink a few beers, keep the smile rolling. You're on target with everything else. No worries ! Great effin' car.

o_O Wow, ask a question and we are "Shock police" or trolls.
I don't recall once that we were critical of anything on your build.
( Except for expressing an opinion on the bullet holes maybe, but that was very mild :) )
Just asked a simple question that could have been answered just as easily.
I'm thinking someone is a little over sensitive here. :D
In case you are wondering, I too like Larry was enjoying your build.
    I happen to love 26-27 s on 32 chassis.

Don't let them get ya down. Don't see what the hurry is to get shocks on the thing if you're enjoying the ride as is. When and if you do get them mounted, then they'll get to see how you did it.

Oh yea. I kinda like the bullet holes.

Spectacular car and exciting/fun build. Nice work Flattie

  5. I had a pic of my 27 on here without shocks on it and everyone went crazy also. It dove fine and had a big block in it!

:D:D A car without shocks will weight transfer under heavy braking and the front end can dive towards the pavement :D:D Nice to know that yours dove fine :D:D

  7. Sorry, it DROVE fine and there wasn't much heavy braking. It only had rear brakes due to spindle mount wheels.

  8. Heavy braking is only needed/used when it really counts anyway. JW

The windshield looks good. Is that new wood in the trunk? I don't remember seeing that on the reliability run.

  12. I bet the springs have enough friction with the leaves that they act as shocks. Super cool T. JW:)

Do you have any detail pics of the transmission/shifter linkages or how you did that with the column shift? It's tight in a T body, I am doing the same thing, like to see how you tackled it.

Heard about this build somewhere else on the HAMB, and was looking for a good build thread to read through. Once my 50 Chevy is "done", I might just start becoming the "parts collector guy" for a '26/7 T on Deuce rails.

    Great work man! :)

I have 3 27 T’s roadsters that I picked up. Going to build one just like this which is really funny. I have a 34 flatly and a 37 trans. Wondered how your rad hose offsets worked for cooling.

Need to sell one of the bodies and a couple of the extra cowls

The hose off set worked great and had no problem cooling once I had a proper radiator on the car
