I too used a Morgan Silver Dollar in my ride - in the hub of the spinner wheel in my '37

Don't think this is all high dollar stuff, it honestly isn't. I simply had someone do a little engraving on a standard Bob Drake bull nose after I had sand blasted it. Same with the coin, it was a $20 eBay purchase with some engraving. Coins like this can be picked up for pennies.

The car has a certain 'theme' to it and I thought this Victorian coin/bull nose would fit that theme.

Yes, the camera is under warranty. I need to get it fixed. I plan to bring it in to be sorted out first week in March which is coincidentally while I am in Detroit... :p

Thanks HRP. Those drums are a mockup pair Bob had lying around. The ones being used are off being balanced and glass beaded. The front tires will be shaved after Detroit to ensure the car rides as smooth as possible.

The car will be handed to me MAYBE a day prior to the 3k mile round trip to Austin and the pack of cars headed down all cruise at or above highway speed so the car will need to sit solidly at 75-80 all day.

I went with the earlier Model A headlights, I really prefer the flat front surface over the later convex '32s. Turn signals have been integrated into the headlights. No wiring will show that is not inside something period correct, no plastic etc.

Backing plate hardware is all original, no shiny chrome bolts etc. I searched high and low to get a full set of near mint '41 wheels and they came up looking like new. The center caps will be left off until the week before Detroit to prevent any unintended dings/scratches etc.

Bob did an amazing job on the original 32-36 dropped axle. It looks like glass and it is obvious he put a lot of time into finishing/rounding the top.

This week and next should see progress on the engine and the frame complete with engine being shipped to NJ for the body to be fitted. Then...down the road to mikeyseats for some leather.

Well, we have paint. Finished it at like 4:30AM this morning, ahead of the blizzard.

Later this week sees cut/buff...and then, mated to frame and off for some leather.
