Cut some white marine vinyl I had matched for the white firewall a little over sized and glued that to the carpet.
Trimmed the vinyl and nailed down the Hydem welt. Put construction caulk under the edge of the vinyl to seal it. Then about 250 really small nails and presto, instant roof,lol.
The boot for the master cylinder fit the cylinder a little loose and the push rod snug, so to prevent it from sliding forward on the push rod I made a spacer from some gas line. I also put a small spring on the brake arm just cause I could.
I have been following along from the first. It looks like it coming along very well. Keep up the good work. Len
Put the E brake cables on the rear end. Then I went around and checked each brake line fitting making sure they were tight, I found one fitting that I had cross threaded. Finally I put the brake shoes on the front and greased the wheel bearings.

Dang Patman, Winner winner chicken dinner!!!! I see the little sticker on the crate now,lol. Are those engines any good?
No idea on the engine quality, I just googled the number on the sticker. If that engine lives up to the specs, it'll be a handful in a car as light as yours. Sounds like fun...

Got to work on the transmission to make the speedometer mechanical. I cut the reluctor ring 99% through then some pressure with a screw driver and it popped lose. I used the ring to gently push the new gear on. Once I had it reassembled I could put on the correct pulse maker for my speedometer.
Top looks great, im going to do the masonite/outdoor carpet trick as well when it get a little warmer. Great looking coupe , love the color.
Thanks guys, When I was doing the top and I cut the carpet half an inch too short on one side so, back to the store for another piece. Did some assembly stuff on the engine today. Just before I quit for the night I set the intake on to see if I could install it without removing the valve covers and I can.
Did a few little things like water temp and oil press. sending units and lets see, oh yea, put the engine in. Managed to do it without chipping paint too. Now I have to try to figure out the hundred little things to do next.
Put the radiator on and then hooked up the transmission lines. I wrapped Teflon tape around many times and turned them on until they turned quite hard> since they have to point to 3 o'clock I hope they are tight enough, I wish there was a better way. I installed a Dakota Digital gear indicator to the trans.
