  10. Stuff we worked on in our parent's back yards in the early and middle 60's.
Had no licenses yet but that didn't stop us.
All were up and running by the time we reached legal driving age. Sid\'s back yard.png

Rootie, is that Dayton or Salem for the sprint car picture? Nice field of cars and drivers.

Rootie will know for sure but it looks like the wave lap for the 1960 Joe James/Pat O'Connor race at Salem to me. If so, polesitter Parnelli Jones won the race.

Yeah, it is Salem 1960 but I don't know which race for sure. The J/O mem. looks likely though.

    Page-Bowes.jpg Rootie.

Interesting photo. Must be '48 with Agabashian in the ross Page and I believe the nose entering on the right of the photo is the new Kurtis chassied Bowes Winfield that Rex put on the poll.

  25. RedlandMaggie, thanks for great pictures AND, with titles too! Being a displaced Oregonian, these picture remind me of home.

    Yes it is.

  27. The Crab Broiler was down by Cannon Beach (by the turnoff to Hwy 101), you may be thinking of the Crab Bowl on Barbur Blvd, the "new owners" moved it back to the old location from the old Denny's one, but alas, it is not anywhere near as good as the original, and it looks fairly decrepit when you drive by.

  28. You are most welcome. I like captions, they help me fix a picture in time and place, I LOVE looking at old pictures. I've been going through this site http://www.ghostsofnorthdakota.com/ (I've not been to North Dakota, ever), and it is so cool to read all of the posts from old residents of these towns.
