At one point in his career Bobby Marshman drove the Heydenreich family midget. Sometime after Bobby's death his father (George) gave his son's Sam Browne belt to a then very young Johnny Heydenreich. Johnny went on to become a well known driver himself and still races today in USAC Silver Crown cars. And he still has Bobby Marshman's Sam Browne belt; likely the same one that Bobby is using in this photo.

Rootie, do you happen to know who is driving the car at San Jose? It's hard to tell in the photo but somehow it doesn't look like Agabashian; at least to me.

Yeah, I agree it's not Freddie A. (btw-the driver of the Hovey Spl. midget in the same photo set.) I was thinking it was Mel Hansen, the first driver of the R/P car but it doesn't look much like him either. (?) 1-15-m.JPG

In the early '50s, my uncle took me 1_moon_burgess.jpg 8b_dick_dixon.jpg 29_benny_germano.jpg 97_19_21.jpg 99_207_wreck.jpg dixon8b.gif and my cousins to Riverside Speedway at Riverside Park in Agawam, MA. The track is gone, and it's now Six Flags.
