I do believe the electric A/C units designed for electric cars are going to sell by the millions to the flathead-powered rides so they can join in the long-range cruises the rest of us so enjoy. I surely hope so.

I wasn't around then, but I would figure by 1932 the Depression was really being felt. About the only people who were able to buy new cars were the "bad guys", and they liked the high-end models.

Great thread. Does the kit come with the drip rail above the rear door ?

When I had my conversion done at Kemp's we used Doug's wood kit and latch. Kemp got the drip rail from a guy in Washington or Oregon and the rubber drip rail filler from the guy in CA that had all the woodies. The 3 of us that were doing conversions that winter had Kemp make the rear bumper from unplated/undrilled blanks that I believe Steve Hayes got for us. Sometimes I just sit in the garage and stare at my delivery, it will be sad to see it go.

  15. ^^^ I was worried that a glass body would look strange in person without the drip rails but I could live with that one I think.

    Any more pics?

The above bumper sure looks good but is not the correct shape for a sedan delivery. The correct shape has the dip more rounded and is shown on some of the deliveries above. When I had my conversion done by Kemp's he made the rear bumper off a template furnished by Doug along with his wood kit all taken from his gennie delivery.

A gent named Owen built this 32 steel bodied SD (fiberglass cargo door) lots of fun but a little strange with suicide front end. Owen Geise I believe is his name. I would love to find out more about this car. I just replaced spring perches and front bushings...a blast to drive. IMG_6825.JPG

  24. The thought crossed my mind. If I did I would probably make it a flower wagon and leave the glass in the sides.

For now we're just gonna polish it up and burn gas in StreetRod mode. Almost through with the clean up too. Turned out real nice for a driver car.
