I remember when you could buy them cheap from JC Whittney and today that are non existent. The have the look and there are no really good copies out there.
The entire package on that car is sweet by the way. Don't know if its your car but it is a good example of a real traditional custom.

 

It is my car. And thank you. The lenses are in fact repops from Moss Motors, they are very true to the originals. I have 2 originals, but couldn't find two more that I was satisfied with.

Hmmmn learn something new every day.

Back in the late 90s the Ol' Man was helping a guy with a Lister Jag, it had Lucas lights and one was broken, he found one in South Africa for 300 dollars.

Yes, Moss Motors is a good source for the Lucas lenses. I have my eye on a set for my '58 T-Bird.

 

So how is the light output on the Moss's?
I know they are driving lights, but how do they work on real highway use.
Guess I should ask BobK, he has a zillion miles on his.

 

@ThunderRocket ... @CHOPMERC can probably provide more insight on this. But I know my plan is to incorporate H4 halogen bulbs of the low watt variety.

That's what I did john. H4 halogens, I trimmed off the excess metal used to mount the bulb to whatever it's for, then made a simple wire bracket to hold it to the back of the Lucas lense. Last step is to seal with silicone adhesive to keep moisture out.

@ynottayblock No build pics yet ... will be keeping it under wraps until the big reveal. It will walk on the wild side though.

@fatty mcguire Excellent examples - love those headlights with shades/beaks. Always cool

@flynbrian48 Looks good! ... and yes, much understood on the amount of work. The side mounting area just above the seam is pretty tough to work with.

 

Here´s something I´ve done on my sons 59 Impala.It´s 60 Buick trim rings with home made surroundings molded to the fenders.
