Technical 54 Chevy license plate light???

Anyone know where I can get a replacement oem license plate light for my 54 ???? Some dumbass put a 12v bulb in a 6v socket and frigged it all up!!!
I tried already.......
chevof40's
the truck and car shop
and national chev ass.

 

I should have one but will have to get up in the attic. I will let you know tomorrow. Slug

 

If it's just a socket problem you should be able to replace just the socket. I did that on my 51.

I found the one from my '54. Probably still has the original bulb in it. Mounting plate with socket and I'll throw in the nice glass lense. 20.00 to your door. paypal will work. Let me know. Slug

Indeed!
I am guessing that someone tried to force in a bulb that did not fit, or the socket is just so corroded that it's falling apart. The light sockets don't care if the bulbs in them are 6 V or 12 V.
