The Canned Monster is in Ventura at JG Design & Fab, but sadly no, I'm not there. Wish I were though.

Cool project, been working on something similar for a while now.
Is that heater block-off plate a Ford piece? Pretty neat...

Looking forward to more progress. I always enjoy the detailed photos of the construction of the front suspensions. I forgot, are you running parallel springs or as single transverse?

Here are the other pics showing the overlay plates. The front frame rails are coming together nicely. 10873493_10150468418869946_691131032652337560_o.jpg 10869409_10150468418859946_3392805608435959387_o.jpg 10862719_10150468418849946_2711356504011422530_o.jpg

UPDATE ON THE BUILD: Motor mount plate in progress. JG Design & Fab is doing a great job on this. The motor plate design ties back into the overlay plates on the frame posted above. Mounts will feature urethane bushings on the ends with a through bolt to help dampen the vibrations this things going to make.

I have had many ask about the clearance for the balancer as it seems the mount is very close. Here is a pic of a stock mount to give you an idea. The new mount is actually 1/4" larger than the stock version. 292-front_mount.jpg

Update on the build. Caps for the frame ends are now in place. JG Design & Fab are doing some clean work on the Monster. Front springs are also getting mocked up and hangers are being worked on now.

@desotot I picked up a '62 Ford Unibody truck yesterday. Very complete and original. Its been sitting for 12 years. Going to start that resurrection next weekend. Hope the motor is good and I can just get it back on the road. Time will tell. I may start a thread on that one as well. I've been looking for one of those for a while and this one just came up. 3/4 ton long bed, Y-Block, four speed. This when its all said and done will be the truck that pulls the trailer the Monster is on. Would be great to have it on the road by May so I can use it to haul the Monster down to Eagle Field.

Chopping out the sheet metal to make room for the relocated rear. Moving it forward 9 inches.
