Hollywood Knights and American Graffiti for reminiscing of the lifestyles and cars of the 50’s early 60’s..
Rebel Without A Cause for setting the 49-51 Merc. as King Of The Customs forever.

Ha! No, I'm 100% dude! Just being a smart ass. We appearantly use the same definition of dreamy. It was just a horribly bad movie.

  7. I have to agree! I remember seeing Thunder Road at the Starlite Drive in 1958 in the back seat of my parents 1949 Plymouth. I was eleven and thought it was the greatest movie ever.

  8. Volvo, don't think you were alone thinking that it was a girl that responded. I was questioning Katuna's gender also with that comment! :confused:o_O

I agree with a lot of the previous, then there's some OT stuff I like:
    The Seven Ups
    Diamonds are Forever
    Christine
    Cobra
The Car (a truly bad horror movie)
Grease (to a 13 year old it was cool)
    Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

  11. Would that have been the starlight drive in on rt9 in Croton NY. My parents had summer home there and we would sneak in all the time.

  12. AG followed by TLB in second place.

The beagle in "Used Cars" stole the show in my opinion. I still scream every time I see the scene where he pees on the mechanics head to wake him up. But, if I had to pick just one movie I'd pick AG. Nothing was cooler than hearing "Green Onions" on the way to Paradise Road. Still enjoy watching it.

Lots of great choices here. I would add "Hot Rod Girl" (1956) with Chuck Connors and Frank Gorshin (who played the Riddler in 1960s Batman television series)

  18. Running on Empty (shout out to my Aussie Hamb brothers).
    Green's Nice.
"Piss off" whats sort of names that?.

  23. I think were talking Hot Rods. Otherwise James Gardner in Grand Prix. Also the Steve McQueens The Getaway.

Maybe it was just me but I thought my irony was clear with "Corvette Summer" and "cinematic masterpiece" in the same sentence.

Way above the Hollywood storyline bullshit!
If McQueen wasn't in this movie, it would almost pass as a documentary
